As the first quarter of 2021 has wrapped up, we at Sensor Tower have taken a close look at the performance of the top carpooling and ridesharing applications on the Android platform in Brazil. This sector has seen considerable activity, and our data provides some interesting insights.
Uber - Request a ride saw a slight decrease in downloads from 225K in the last week of December to 151K by the end of March. Weekly active users peaked at 9.5M in early January but showed a downward trend, settling around 6.6M by the end of March.
inDrive. Save on city rides experienced fluctuations in downloads, starting at around 104K in late December, dipping in the following weeks, and then spiking to an impressive 277K in late March. Weekly active users showed a decrease from 1.75M to approximately 1.46M in the same period.
For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, downloads began at 123K in the final week of December and saw a decrease to 66K by the end of March. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight decline from 672K to 616K.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus showed a general downward trend in downloads, from 81K to 52K, and weekly active users decreased slightly from 686K to 555K during the quarter.
Lastly, Uber Lite had a modest presence with downloads decreasing from 35K to 12K over the quarter. Weekly active users saw a slight decline from 1.28M to 1.15M.
